Its nice to think that when corrupt outdated institutions die, better ones take their place. But history has shown that improvement is not guaranteed, advancement is choppy and the leaders of the dying institutions often take the leadership in the new, bringing old habits. As the French say "the more it changes the more it is the same".

The difference this time is climate change, which at the present moment threatens a worldwide effect, at a minimum, on food production and habitable spaces.

Along with external pressures, many are experiencing inner turmoil. This inner turmoil has the potential to awaken consciousness in some and to lead to greater fragmentation in others.

We are in for a long a difficult journey. And if the world we know is definitely ending, no one can predict the outcome.
